Privacy

How we collect, use, share and protect your information, and the choices you have.

Effective date: October 8, 2026

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Reload Athletics, LLC ("Reload Athletics", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares personal information when you use the reload apps, our website and related services (the "Service"). Reload Athletics is a Delaware limited liability company and the controller of your personal information.

This policy describes our practices. It is not a contract and does not create contractual rights or obligations.

Summary

  • We collect the information you give us, the data you choose to connect from other services, and technical information about how the app works.

  • We use it to provide reload: your training, recovery and nutrition insights, and the features you choose to use.

  • We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use your health or fitness data for advertising.

  • Service providers help us run reload under contracts that limit how they may use your information.

  • You can access, export and delete your information, and withdraw your consent.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information, such as your name and email address.

  • Profile and body information, such as your age, sex, height, weight, body composition, training thresholds and goals.

  • Training, recovery and nutrition information you log, such as workouts, meals, meal photos, check-ins and notes.

  • Other content you choose to add, such as a profile photo or a short recording of your name.

  • Messages you send us.

Information from services you connect

When you connect a service such as Apple Health, Garmin, Google Calendar, Strava, Wahoo or WHOOP, we receive the data you authorize. This can include workouts and activity files (which may contain location, heart rate and power), sleep, heart-rate variability, recovery data, body measurements and calendar events. Each service has its own section at the end of this policy.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone and IP address.

  • Usage and diagnostic information, such as the features you use, crash reports and performance data.

  • If you allow it, device identifiers for advertising measurement (section 5).

We need your email address to create an account. Some features need more information, for example your weight to estimate your energy needs. If you don't provide it, those features won't work.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide the Service, including your account and the features you use.

  • To calculate training, recovery, energy and nutrition estimates and targets from your data.

  • To sync with the services you connect, at your request.

  • To provide the AI features you choose to use (section 4).

  • To send service messages, such as sign-in codes, confirmations and notifications you allow.

  • To find and fix problems, and to understand which features people use so we can improve them.

  • To measure our advertising, if you allow it (section 5).

  • To keep the Service and our users safe, prevent misuse, and meet our legal obligations.

We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide your account, the core features of the Service and service messages.

  • Explicit consent: to process health and fitness data, including data from services you connect, to provide AI features, and for advertising measurement. You can withdraw your consent at any time in the app or by contacting us. Withdrawal doesn't affect processing that happened before.

  • Legitimate interests: to keep the Service secure, to prevent misuse, and to fix problems and improve features based on how they are used. You can object to this processing.

  • Legal obligation: when the law requires us to process or keep information.

4. AI features

Two optional features use third-party artificial intelligence (AI):

  • Meal analysis estimates the nutrition in a meal photo or a meal description.

  • Workout descriptions write a description for a workout you plan.

When you use one of them, we send only the content it needs: the photo, your description or note, or the workout's name, sport, steps and targets. We don't send your name or email address with it, or data from the services you connect.

We send this content through OpenRouter, an AI routing service, to the company that runs the AI model: Google for meal analysis and OpenAI for workout descriptions. They return the result to us.

The app asks for your permission before you first use these features. You can withdraw it at any time in the app. Without it, you can still log meals and plan workouts yourself.

AI results are estimates and can be wrong. They are not medical or dietary advice.

5. Cookies, SDKs and advertising measurement

The app includes software from service providers for analytics, crash reporting and advertising measurement. Our website may use cookies for similar purposes.

If you allow tracking when the app asks, we share device identifiers and app events, such as installs, sign-ups and purchases, with advertising partners to measure how our ads perform. We don't use health or fitness data for advertising. You can change your choice at any time in your device settings.

6. How we share your information

  • Service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting and storage, sign-in, email, analytics, crash reporting, subscription management and AI processing (section 4 names our AI providers). They act on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect your information. You can ask us for their names.

  • Advertising partners, only if you allow tracking (section 5).

  • Services you connect, when you ask us to send them information, for example planned workouts to your device or your Google Calendar, or nutrition to Apple Health.

  • Authorities and others, when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Reload Athletics.

  • A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.

We don't sell personal information for money. Under some US state laws, sharing information with advertising partners can count as a "sale" or "sharing" (section 13).

7. Connected services

  • You choose which services to connect, and you can disconnect them at any time in the app or at the service.

  • We receive only the data you authorize. Each service handles your data under its own privacy policy.

  • When you disconnect a service in the app, we stop collecting data from it. We keep the data we already received in your reload history, unless you choose to delete it when you disconnect. Strava limits how long we may keep its data, as its section below explains. You can ask us to delete kept data later, as section 9 describes.

  • When you revoke our access in Strava or Garmin Connect, we delete the data we received from that service, unless the law requires us to keep it.

  • When we delete a service's data, we keep the parts of a workout that come from services you still use.

Each connected service has its own section:

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy. We consider the type and sensitivity of the information, why we hold it, and our legal obligations.

  • Account information and content you add: while your account exists.

  • Data from a connected service: while the service stays connected. After you disconnect it in the app, until you ask us to delete it or you delete your account, unless you choose to delete it when you disconnect. Strava data is the exception: after you disconnect Strava, we keep it for 30 days, unless you choose to delete it sooner. If you don't reconnect, we then delete it.

  • Usage and diagnostic information: for a limited period, to fix problems and improve the Service.

  • Records the law requires, such as purchase records: for the period the law sets.

When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, unless the law requires us to keep it. Copies in backups are overwritten over time.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to withdraw your consent, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.

You can export your data, delete your account, disconnect services and change your choices in the app. For any other request, contact us at privacy@reloadathlete.com. We will confirm your identity and respond within the time the applicable law requires. Where the law allows, an authorized agent can make a request for you. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of your information. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

11. International transfers

We store information mainly in the European Union. Some service providers process it in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards.

12. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, or under the higher age the law sets where they live. We don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. US state privacy rights

Residents of California and other US states with consumer privacy laws have additional rights.

Categories we collect: identifiers (such as name, email address and device identifiers); personal characteristics (such as age and sex); commercial information (such as subscriptions); internet and app activity; geolocation contained in workout files; audio and visual information (such as photos); calendar events from a calendar you connect; inferences (such as training and energy estimates); and sensitive personal information (health and fitness data, and precise location in workout files).

Sources and purposes: see sections 1 and 2.

Disclosures: we disclose these categories to service providers for business purposes, and to the services you direct us to. If you allow tracking, we share identifiers and app activity with advertising partners, which may count as a "sale" or "sharing". We don't sell or share sensitive personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing information of consumers under 16.

Sensitive personal information: we use it only to provide the Service you request and for other purposes the law permits.

Retention: see section 8.

Your rights: to know, access, correct and delete your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against. To opt out, decline tracking when the app asks or turn it off in your device settings, or contact us. To make other requests, see section 9.

14. Consumer health data

Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy describes your rights under the health data laws of Washington, Nevada and Connecticut.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is material, we will tell you before it takes effect. We will ask for your consent before we use information we already hold in a materially different way.

Apple Health

This section explains how reload handles data from Apple Health. It is part of this Privacy Policy.

  • What we read, with your permission: workouts, active and resting energy, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart-rate variability, VO2 max, respiratory rate, sleep, weight, body-fat percentage and height.

  • What we write, with your permission: nutrition from the meals you log, weight and body-fat percentage.

  • We use Apple Health data only to provide health and fitness features in reload. We don't use it for advertising, marketing or data mining, and we don't sell it.

  • We share it only with service providers that help us provide these features.

  • You can change what reload reads and writes at any time in the Health app or in your device settings.

Garmin

This section explains how reload collects, uses, processes and stores data from Garmin Connect. It is part of this Privacy Policy.

How we collect it

You connect Garmin in the app, sign in to Garmin Connect, and choose which data to share. Garmin then sends us new data when your devices sync. When you first connect, we may also request a limited amount of your earlier data.

What we collect

Activities and activity files (which may contain location, heart rate and power), daily health summaries, sleep, heart-rate variability, body composition, and the name of the device that recorded the data. What we receive depends on the permissions you give in Garmin Connect.

How we use it

To show your activities and health data, and to calculate your training load, recovery, energy and nutrition estimates. Insights derived in part from Garmin device-sourced data are labeled in the app.

How we store it

We store Garmin data in our systems, mainly in the European Union, with the safeguards described in section 10. We keep it while Garmin stays connected. If you disconnect Garmin in reload, we keep it in your reload history, unless you choose to delete it.

Who can access it

You, and service providers that help us run the Service, under contract (section 6). We don't sell Garmin data or use it for advertising.

Third-party AI

We don't send Garmin data to third-party AI providers, and we don't use it to train AI models. If this changes, we will update this section first and ask for your explicit consent before any Garmin data reaches an AI provider.

Sending workouts to Garmin

When you connect Garmin, reload sends your planned workouts to Garmin Connect automatically, so they reach your Garmin device. This includes workouts your coach plans for you. We send each workout's name, description, sport, steps, targets and date. Before you connect, we show you what we will send and ask for your consent. Garmin handles that data under the Garmin Connect Privacy Policy.

Your choices

  • Change your data permissions in Garmin Connect. We then stop receiving the data you turned off.

  • Disconnect Garmin in reload or in Garmin Connect. We then end our connection with Garmin. When you disconnect in reload, we keep the Garmin data we hold in your reload history, unless you choose to delete it. When you disconnect in Garmin Connect, we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.

  • Use your other rights as section 9 describes.

Garmin and Garmin Connect are trademarks of Garmin Ltd. or its subsidiaries.

Google Calendar

This section explains how reload handles data from Google Calendar. It is part of this Privacy Policy.

What we ask for

When you connect Google Calendar, reload asks Google for one permission: to see, create, change and delete events on the Google calendars you own. reload uses it only for your primary calendar. It has no access to other people's calendars, your contacts or your free/busy information.

How we use it

  • reload adds your planned workouts to your primary Google Calendar as events, with the workout's name, its time and a text description. When you move, edit or delete a workout in reload, reload updates or deletes its event.

  • reload reads the events on your primary calendar for the days you open in reload, including each event's title, time and location, and shows them next to your plan.

What we store

The access token and refresh token that Google issues, and the ID of each event reload created, so we can update or delete it. We don't store the events we read. They go to your device for display and stay there only while the app is running.

Who can access it

Only you. Coaches and team members can't see your Google Calendar events in reload. No one at Reload Athletics reads your Google Calendar data unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security, or the law requires it. We share it only with the service providers that host and run reload for us.

What we don't do

We don't sell Google user data or use it for advertising. We don't send it to AI models or use it to train them.

reload's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data protection

Google user data travels encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) and is stored encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Only the parts of reload that run this feature use your Google tokens.

Data retention and deletion

When you disconnect, reload revokes its access at Google and deletes your Google tokens at once. reload never stores the events it reads. The IDs of events reload created stay with your workouts until you delete your account.

  • Deleting your reload account also revokes reload's access at Google and deletes your Google tokens.

  • You can also remove reload's access at any time in your Google Account.

  • Events reload already added stay in your Google Calendar until you delete them.

Google Calendar is a trademark of Google LLC.

Strava

This section explains how reload collects, stores, uses and deletes data from Strava. It is part of this Privacy Policy and doesn't change Strava's Privacy Policy, which governs how Strava handles your data.

What we collect

Your Strava athlete ID and the activities you authorize, including details such as type, time, duration, distance, calories, heart rate and power, and activity streams such as the GPS route and elevation. We ask only for read access. We don't post to your Strava account.

How we collect it

Before you connect, reload explains what it will collect and asks for your consent. You then authorize reload on Strava. After that, Strava tells us when you add or change an activity, and we fetch it.

How we use it

Only to show your own training history in reload and to calculate your training load and fueling estimates. We show your Strava data only to you. We don't sell it, use it for advertising or AI features, or use it for analytics across users.

How we store it

We store Strava data in our systems, mainly in the European Union, with the safeguards described in section 10. We keep it only as long as we need it to show your training history: while Strava is connected, and for 30 days after you disconnect Strava in reload, unless you choose to delete it sooner. When you change or delete an activity on Strava, we update reload to match.

Strava's Usage Data

Strava may collect information about how reload uses the Strava API ("Usage Data") and may use it for any business purpose.

Withdrawing consent and deleting your data

  • Withdraw your consent at any time: disconnect Strava in reload, or revoke reload's access in your Strava settings.

  • When you disconnect Strava in reload, we stop collecting your Strava data. We keep the data we hold for 30 days in case you reconnect. If you don't reconnect, we then delete it. If you choose to delete it when you disconnect, we delete it then.

  • When you revoke access in your Strava settings, delete your Strava account, or delete your reload account, we delete your Strava data.

  • Each deletion includes activity files. If another connected service recorded the same workout, we keep that service's part.

  • If you ask, we confirm the deletion in writing.

  • You can get a copy of your Strava data with the data export in the app.

Strava is a trademark of Strava, Inc. reload is not developed or endorsed by Strava.

Wahoo

This section explains how reload handles data from Wahoo. It is part of this Privacy Policy.

  • What we receive: completed workouts and their activity files, and your power zones.

  • What we send to Wahoo, with your consent: planned workouts and training plans, so they appear on your Wahoo devices. Wahoo may use the information we send for any business purpose, as described in Wahoo's Privacy Policy.

  • We show Wahoo data only to you. We don't sell, license or lease it.

  • When you disconnect Wahoo, we revoke our access. We keep your Wahoo data in your reload history, unless you choose to delete it when you disconnect. You can ask us to delete it later, as section 9 describes.

  • Wahoo and Reload Athletics each control their own copy of your data. For the data Wahoo holds, contact Wahoo.

WHOOP

This section explains how reload handles data from WHOOP. It is part of this Privacy Policy.

  • What we receive: your profile, body measurements, recovery, sleep, cycles and strain, and workouts.

  • We show WHOOP data only to you. We don't sell it or use it to train AI models.

  • When you disconnect WHOOP, we revoke our access. We keep your WHOOP data in your reload history, unless you choose to delete it when you disconnect. You can ask us to delete it later, as section 9 describes.

  • When you delete a workout, sleep or recovery in WHOOP, we delete our copy.

  • You can get a copy of your WHOOP data with the data export in the app.
